Who We Are & What We Do

Keeping Hope Alive

Bobby Cerasoli was 16 years old and had just began his senior year of high school when he was diagnosed with Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor, Stage IV in September of 2022. Immediately following the news of the diagnosis, his community and surrounding communities took it upon themselves to organize several highly successful fundraising events to help support his family during his treatment. This was essential in the 11 month battle he courageously fought with DSRCT. Bobby's family was able to not only provide him with all of the medical attention and care necessary, but they were able to spend time with him and create some incredible memories, despite the monster fight they were all in. Bobby graduated in May of 2023 with honors. He succumbed to his battle on August 14, 2023 at age 17. The legacy he left behind was profound. He was, to all that knew him, selfless, wise, kind, helpful and brave. This inspired his family to keep his spirit alive and show others some of the same support that was offered to them.

Founded in 2023, Bobby Cerasoli Spreading Hope has made tremendous impact thanks to the help of members and volunteers in the local and online community. We strive to help local families facing tragic life events, with a special focus on families of children with cancer. Our goal is not only to help relieve some of their financial burden that is associated with their journey, but also to inspire hope and generosity of others throughout our mission. The core of our work lies in the continuous passion and dedication we bring to the range of projects we take part in. Please join us by supporting our efforts to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

"I wanted to take a few moments for this organization, and the people who make it happen. Especially Angie Cerasoli. Through a fundraiser that my youngest son Craig set up for his brother Tyler, Meagan, and child Liam, that was shared to a Millington hometown page, which Angie saw.  While I understand that their foundation is usually based on children with cancer, they chose to adopt out family, which we are so very thankful for.  We are no stranger to the cancer.  As it turns out, I myself, lost a child to a rare A.L.L.luekemia cancer.  I also know Bob and Deb Ceresoli (Bobby’s grandparents), as our children grew up together, and played sports in Millington.  I also followed Bobby’s journey battling cancer.  With all that being said, Angie chose our family, after finding about the similarities in our families, and battling cancer in the youth.  I did not know Angie, until she reached out.  Liam was born with a heart defect and was airlifted to U of M children’s hospital.  He had surgery to correct the problem, with success. It is our belief that it was a miracle that the problem was found, and corrected, as opposed to there being a still/birth.  We can’t thank Angie and her family enough.  She lives and breathes her soul into this organization and its cause, which is something we all should be thankful for!  We also thank the community for their support, both financially, and emotionally.  I’m a firm believer that it takes a village, and we are so proud to have you all as part of our village.  With most sincere gratitude"

It started shortly after Bobby's diagnosis in September of 2022 when friends and family organized an amazing golf outing in support of Bobby and his family. The community rallied together to raise as much money as they could to help the family offset costs associated with week-long chemo treatments, such as travel expenses, lodging and meals. Because of the incredible and continued support from the community, both local and online, the family never had to worry about financial issues during Bobby's 11 months of treatment, and they we able to spend as much time with him as possible before he eventually succumbed to the cancer in August, 2023. The next golf outing took place in September, 2023, and shifted it's focus on raising funds to financially help other families of children with cancer. From there, the foundation was born!
